2021 Conference - Virtual
Called, Gifted, and United
In August 2021, the Bethany Association held its first-ever virtual international conference, gathering 33 women—including 23 Bethany members—from across regions for four days of formation, prayer, and fellowship. Held from August 19–22, the conference centered on the theme: “The Call and Charisms of the Bethany Association.”
Though unable to meet in person, the gathering proved to be a meaningful and Spirit-filled space. The focus of the conference was twofold: to rediscover the distinct call of Bethany within the Sword of the Spirit, and to reflect on the spiritual gifts and charisms that shape the life and mission of its members. Together, the participants explored how the Lord continues to call women to live single for Him, and how He equips them—individually and as a body—to build up His people.
The sessions featured teachings, personal sharing, and breakout discussions, offering sisters a chance to engage deeply with the material and with each other. Even through screens, the experience was one of refreshment and renewal, and many shared how moved they were by the Lord’s personal encouragement through the weekend.
One participant noted, “Even though we were physically apart, I felt more connected than ever to our sisters around the world. This conference reminded me that we are truly one body, and we each have a place in it.”
A highlight of the conference was the sense of unity that emerged despite distance. Moments of informal sharing, reflection, and prayer helped strengthen the bonds of love and mutual support that define Bethany. The conference also encouraged greater clarity and confidence in the association’s charism—renewing the shared desire to live fully for the Lord, and to support others in doing the same.
The 2021 Virtual Conference showed that while the format may have changed, the spirit of Bethany remains vibrant. United in calling, gifted by the Spirit, and grounded in love, the women of Bethany continue to say yes to the Lord—and to one another.
